There are lots of fee charging debt advice services but you can access free, impartial information and guidance on money matters from a number of excellent advice providers. The debt advice services can give free assistance on all debt matters such as council tax debts, court actions and credit debts. Some can offer support on money management.

There are some excellent publicly funded, free, independent websites that you can use to sort out your debt problems yourself. You can do budget sheets, look for ways of maximising your income, and find factsheets and sample letters to use to sort out debt and money problems without going to an advice centre.
